Gonda: Emphasising the need to provide timely and quality medical treatment to road accident victims, a review meeting was held at the meeting hall of the Gonda RTO office to ensure effective implementation of the PM Cashless Treatment Scheme for road accident victims.
The meeting was attended by nodal officers of hospitals empanelled under the scheme. Officials discussed in detail the complete process, from transporting an accident victim from the site to a hospital and preparing the victim’s identification to providing initial treatment, stabilisation and subsequent treatment under the scheme.
The City Magistrate participated in the meeting as the Grievance Redressal Officer. Police department nodal officials, CO Traffic, Medical Department Nodal Officer Dr G.M. Chishti, EDAR Nodal Officer Faizal Fattah, EDM Gonda, ARTO and 11 nodal officers representing hospitals covered under the scheme were also present.
Special emphasis was placed on the timely preparation of accident victims’ identification. Officials said the police department must complete the identification process without delay so that injured persons do not face any hurdles in receiving treatment at hospitals.
The meeting also reviewed arrangements for immediate medical attention and stabilisation after the victim reaches the hospital, followed by the required treatment under the cashless scheme.
Officials discussed the processes related to treatment and payments under the scheme, from TMS to PFMS, and highlighted the need for clear coordination and timely action among all stakeholders.
The meeting aimed to ensure that accident victims do not face unnecessary delays at any stage and receive immediate medical assistance as prescribed under the scheme.
Representatives and nodal officers of all empanelled hospitals were instructed to discharge their responsibilities with sensitivity, urgency and strict adherence to timelines. Officials stressed that the initial period following a road accident is critical and that negligence or unnecessary delays at any stage of treatment could have serious consequences.
The participating departments were urged to strengthen coordination and make every possible effort to save the lives of accident victims and facilitate their speedy recovery.
Officials present at the meeting assured that they would work with mutual coordination, prompt action and humanitarian sensitivity to ensure the successful implementation of the scheme. They emphasised that its primary objective is to protect lives by providing timely and quality medical treatment to people injured in road accidents, requiring all concerned departments and hospitals to perform their responsibilities effectively.
